The Shape of Things : Artwork 8

Sun. Water. Earth. The three things this part of the world has always been defined by, held inside a single horizontal frame. The entire surface is covered in dense wavy parallel lines that read like a topographic field, evoking the UAE's desert contours and coastal rhythms at the same time. Three flat graphic forms sit within that field: a radiant circle above, a sinuous form descending through the centre, a sweeping ground mass rising at the base. It is a landscape that does not describe itself so much as it lets you feel it. This is the piece that says where you are from without saying a word, and it belongs on any wall that deserves to carry that kind of weight.
