The Shape of Things : Artwork 9

The cat at the top of this piece is sharp, precise, and completely in control. The lower half is something else entirely. Swirling abstract graphic forms fill the frame from the body downward with an energy that feels restless and expansive all at once, and yet the cat above it remains utterly unbothered. That tension is the design. It draws from Rothko's understanding that a background is never passive, that the field carries as much emotional weight as the subject, and that the most interesting compositions are the ones where neither element wins. Two forces in permanent, productive balance. This piece was made for tall walls, majlis entries, and corridors where you want something that stays with people after they have left the room.
