Table Top Sculptures

Every phrase in this collection is something people say out loud, every day. Bismillah before a meal. Alhamdulillah when good news lands. MashaAllah over a newborn. Kufic Expressions takes those words off the tongue and gives them a permanent place in the home. Kufic is the angular script of many of the earliest surviving Qur'ans, later built straight into the brickwork of mosques across Iran and Central Asia. Its straight lines and right angles made it the script architects could build with. Each piece here uses that same geometry, cut from one sheet of steel and framed by an arch.
