Solid, Interrupted
Solid, Interrupted begins with a form that has already been argued over for sixty years, and asks it one more question. The cube here appears twice. Once closed, matte and light-absorbing, giving the eye nothing to hold. Once as nothing but its own twelve edges, bright and open, holding air. Stacked together the closed forms look like the substance and the open ones look like the pause. Follow the load down and the reading reverses. The pause is carrying the substance.
