Body in Motion : Artwork 8

A female figure in Virabhadrasana — warrior pose — seated low within a tondo frame, one arm raised, the other extended, the body at the precise diagonal that defines committed physical intention. Behind the figure, a grid of rectangular perforations creates a structured, architectural backdrop that makes the organic human silhouette read with maximum clarity through figure-ground contrast. The grid background references mashrabiya screen logic — the Islamic tradition of layered geometric pattern as both architectural element and privacy screen — giving the piece a spatial depth rooted in regional visual culture. A tondo format works for a dining room or a living room where the circular form anchors without imposing.
