Wild & Rooted : Artwork 1
A stylised tree rendered within a perfect tondo, branches dissolving into a dense filigree of leaf-form perforations that fill the circular frame completely. The canopy creates variable light porosity — heavier at the crown, releasing toward the perimeter — so the piece reads differently in morning and evening light. The Tree of Life holds simultaneous cultural meaning across Norse mythology (Yggdrasil), Kabbalistic philosophy (Ein Sof), Celtic cosmology, Mayan tradition (Ceiba), and Islamic paradise garden iconography, which makes it perhaps the single most universally resonant symbol in this collection. An anchor piece for a majlis, meditation corner, or any room where the circular form needs to hold the wall without competing with anything around it.
