Wide Awake : Artwork 6
A single raindrop at the precise moment of impact — the form still intact above the surface, the concentric ripple rings already spreading outward below. The composition captures an instant of cause and effect: the drop has not yet dissolved but the water has already begun to respond. In Taoist philosophy this is the principle of yi fa — one action whose consequences continue long after the act itself is complete. The portrait frame contains the vertical drama without interrupting it. The ripple rings, rendered in tight cutwork, create a perforated lower field that contrasts with the solid mass of the drop above. For a bathroom, a meditation space, or any interior where the idea of small actions carrying large consequences is the intended atmosphere.
