Wide Awake : Artwork 2

A wide-format three-panel composition of cumulus cloud formations over a compressed horizon, rendered against a solid black field. The three panels divide the composition without interrupting it — the clouds read across the joins as a continuous sky. The construction uses atmospheric perspective logic: cumulus density is highest at the top, the lower field compressed into horizontal bands that suggest a receding plane. The Romantic tradition of sky-as-subject — Constable's cloud studies, Turner's atmospheres — established the sky as worthy of full artistic attention, not merely backdrop. Built for a long dining room wall, a corridor, or any horizontal architectural span where scale is the point.
