The Shape of Things : Artwork 3

The big cat is already gone by the time you finish looking. Body low, silhouette stretched to its absolute limit, every line in the composition built around the single idea of speed. The fluid graphic forms inside the body sweep and overlap rearward in a way that makes the stillness of a metal panther feel somehow kinetic, which is exactly what the Italian Futurists were trying to achieve when they argued that movement and time could be collapsed into a single frozen image.
