Symbols of Reverence — Ritual & Devotion : Artwork 6
The Eye of Horus set within a double-winged spiral — the Wedjat as it appears on Late Period amulets and on the prow paintings of Nile boats, where it was used to see through water and ward off misfortune. The name Wedjat means "the whole one" — the eye restored after Seth tore it out and Thoth healed it, making it a symbol specifically of repair, completeness, and the recovery of what was lost. The outer wing feathers follow the Isis-spread-wing convention; the inner ring of eye-hieroglyphs repeats the single sign forty times, the number of assessors in the Hall of Two Truths.
