Still Mind : Artwork 5

Seven river stones stacked in a vertical column, each form slightly offset and organically irregular — a direct rendering of the cairn. Small oval perforations punctuate each stone so the mass never becomes visually heavy. The cairn is one of the oldest acts of human marking: found from the Scottish Highlands to Himalayan trekking routes, it signals presence, intention, and the passage of a person through a place. In Zen practice, stone balancing is itself a form of active meditation. The piece reads as quiet but has real vertical weight — it suits a hallway, a bedroom, or a spa corridor wall where something understated is the most powerful choice.
