Sound & Silence : Artwork 3
Two disembodied hands holding a violin, the instrument itself overtaken by dense floral vines, birds, and scrolling botanical growth — figure absent, instrument as protagonist. The violin body and the natural world have become structurally inseparable: the scroll of the pegbox dissolves into a curled leaf, the strings remain intact within the overgrowth. In Western Romantic tradition, music was understood as the art form most directly connected to nature and feeling — closer to birdsong than to language. That idea is made literal here. The filigree density of the botanical overlay means the piece reads as bold from a distance and intricate up close, rewarding proximity. Strong for a music room, library wall, or any domestic interior where craft and cultural depth are the deliberate registers.
