Happy Days : Artwork 1

Seven circular balloon forms, each face-cut with oval eyes and a wide curved smile, cluster into a tight ascending bunch with their strings converging at a single knot below. The group reads first as one joyful mass and then, on closer inspection, resolves into seven distinct grinning characters each sitting slightly differently from the next. This follows the Gestalt principle of proximity, where individual units surrender to the group before reasserting themselves again. The smiley face has carried the same meaning across every culture and generation since the 1960s, and here it is scaled, multiplied, and made permanent. It is the kind of piece that changes the atmosphere of a room the moment it goes up.
